Overview
As the Director of Human Resources, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing all aspects of the human resource functions within the organization. You will be responsible for developing and implementing HR strategies, policies, and procedures to support the company's overall mission and objectives. Additionally, you will head the HR department, providing guidance and support to ensure the effective delivery of HR services across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and enhance the recruitment process across all divisions, focusing on effective sourcing and candidate selection.
- Lead the hiring process, including interview coordination, application processing, background checks, and onboarding.
- Act as the primary contact for employee HR inquiries, ensuring confidentiality and professionalism.
- Direct and manage the random drug testing program and handle all FMCSA/DOT HR-related issues.
- Supervise I-9 processes, including audits and compliance.
- Analyze and provide strategic insight on insurance plans, 401K, and other employee benefits.
- Oversee payroll processing, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Manage and maintain employee records, both electronic and hard copy.
- Conduct job audits, HR investigations, and follow-up actions.
- Ensure proficiency in Excel, Word, Outlook, and employee systems (Paycor, Foundation).
- Delegate and oversee various HR tasks and projects as required.
Required Knowledge/Skills
- Expertise in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and database management.
- Exceptional communication skills, both oral and written.
- Strong analytical skills in HR-related matters.
- Advanced understanding of local, state, and federal employment laws.
- Minimum three years of experience in HR functions such as recruitment, training, benefits, and EEO compliance.
- Proficiency in HRIS and payroll software (familiarity with Paycor and Foundation is advantageous).
Preferred Knowledge/Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in business, HR, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- At least three years of experience in HR management, administration, or recruitment.
- SHRM-SCP or SPHR certification is highly desirable.

- Coordinate IT, credit cards, property loan agreements, truck agreements, and gas cards during the onboarding process.
- Maintain and track important HR dates (e.g., reviews, emergency contact updates).
- Assistance in creating and maintaining managerial training
- Involved in employee discipline and terminations.
- Transition of employee files to electronic formats.
- Manage application processes.
- Answer phone calls during after-hours, ensuring continuous communication and support.
