Electrical Instrumentation Technician
An Electrical Instrumentation Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, calibrating, and repairing electrical and instrumentation systems within an industrial facility. The technician ensures that electrical, instrumentation, and control systems function efficiently to support manufacturing or processing operations.
This role reports to Electrical Department Manager


Job Duties & Responsibilities


  • Installation & Maintenance: Install, maintain, and repair electrical and instrumentation systems, including motors, sensors, PLCs, controllers, and other associated components.
  • Troubleshooting & Diagnostics: Diagnose electrical and instrumentation system faults and determine corrective actions to minimize downtime.
  • Calibration: Perform routine calibration and adjustments on instrumentation devices such as pressure, temperature, and flow transmitters to ensure proper readings and system performance.
  • System Monitoring: Monitor and test electrical and instrumentation systems, using diagnostic tools such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, and loop calibrators, to ensure systems operate within specified parameters.
  • Preventive Maintenance: Implement and follow preventive maintenance schedules to extend the lifespan of electrical and instrumentation equipment, and reduce the likelihood of unscheduled downtime.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of repairs, maintenance schedules, and calibration results. Update system diagrams and schematics as needed.
  • Safety & Compliance: Ensure all work complies with safety regulations and industry standards, including proper use of PPE (personal protective equipment) and lockout/tagout procedures.
  • System Upgrades: Assist in the installation and upgrading of control systems and instrumentation to improve process reliability and efficiency.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other maintenance and engineering staff to optimize system performance and address any electrical or instrumentation concerns.
