Come join us as a Dealer Relationship Manager, where under the direction of the VP - Indirect Lending, you will develop and manage relationships with auto dealerships to increase the Credit Union's portfolio of loans and other financial services. Responsibilities include the offering/selling Credit Union indirect automobile financing to the dealerships, managing promotional programs, providing leadership with ongoing market competitive reports, resolving dealer issues, and helping with chargeback collections. This position is also responsible for identifying new dealerships that fit the Credit Union's expectations while managing ongoing business development with existing dealerships. Adheres to Credit Union policies and procedures to ensure ethical and compliant business practices. Position requires travel 85% of the time.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Calls on area dealerships and businesses to establish and maintain indirect lending channels. Promotes the Credit Union's loan service and other financial services among dealer/retail networks seeking opportunities to increase our market share and community awareness of the Credit Union offerings.
- Manages the dealer efficiency ratios; ensures that dealership partners meet program expectations. Enhances dealer relations through consistent communication and site visits to ensure program utilization and exposure. Identifies areas where existing Credit Union programs can be improved or enhanced.
- Provides education, knowledge, and training to internal team members and external dealership personnel relative to the indirect auto financing program requirements and procedures. Monitors program and acts as a liaison between the Credit Union and the dealer/retail network.
- Assists with identifying dealer chargebacks keeping the Credit Union's best interest top of mind, and can explain exceptions to plan. Maintains and provides monthly dealer/retail network activity reports, including critical ratios.
- Maintains current knowledge of Credit Union products and services, loan offerings, standard operating procedures, risk-based underwriting parameters, product-specific conditions, etc.
- Assists the VP, Indirect Lending, with the achievement of strategic initiatives.
- Participates in department and/or organizational projects as assigned.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Experience:
Three to five years of related experience and thorough knowledge of Indirect Lending services, policies, and processes are required. Must have a valid driver's license and a good driving record with a minimum of two years of driving experience.
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Local travel is required 85% of the time.

The position requires a significant amount of personal contact with others inside and outside the Credit Union, thus requiring a high degree of confidentiality, discretion, diplomacy, and tact in communication. Builds relationships and fosters positive interactions with Credit Union team members, members, and vendors by demonstrating friendly, helpful, and efficient service. Exceptional follow-up and follow-through skills are critical to success in this role. Must have the ability to motivate, influence, and gain the trust and cooperation of others. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required, including positive body language and tone and communicating clearly and concisely. Empathy, patience, active listening, and sound judgment are required. Must have the ability to understand and communicate products, services, and regulations.
Other Skills:
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to learn the core system and other related software are required. Must demonstrate strong problem-solving and decision-making skills. Must have the ability to apply cognitive reasoning to daily tasks, take ownership, and work independently and as part of a collaborative team. Writing, reading, and comprehending complex instructions, correspondence, memos, policies, and procedures is required. Must be highly motivated, organized, detail-oriented, skillful with time management, and efficient with multitasking and practical application. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment without sacrificing the quality and accuracy of work performed. This position requires standing, sitting, walking, reaching, and driving regularly. The position requires frequent local travel and attendance at events and/or work to be performed both in-office and remotely during and outside of regular business hours.
Salary : $62,325 - $93,488
