This is a hands-on individual contributor (IC) role with mentoring responsibilities and a focus on establishing efficient design and manufacturing processes.
Key Responsibilities :
- Design & Development : Use SolidWorks to create detailed 3D models, assemblies, and technical drawings for components, ensuring compliance with company standards and industry requirements.
- Requirements to Production : Define design requirements and specifications, generate detailed engineering drawings, and oversee the manufacturing process from prototype to production.
- Process Optimization : Develop and establish design workflows, best practices, and quality standards to streamline product development and ensure manufacturability.
- Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) : Apply GD&T principles to designs, ensuring precision, functionality, and compatibility of parts during assembly.
- Sheet Metal Fabrication : Design components with a focus on sheet metal fabrication processes, optimizing for cost, performance, and manufacturability.
- Quality Control (QC) : Collaborate with QC teams to develop and implement inspection criteria, ensuring all products meet engineering and manufacturing standards.
- Collaboration : Work closely with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, supply chain, and quality assurance, to resolve technical challenges and drive project success.
- Mentorship : Provide guidance and mentoring to other engineers to develop their technical and professional skills.
