Floor Person/Material Handler- 2nd Shift

Overview:

The Floor Person will check machine personnel throughout their shift and provide needed raw materials and will take away finished goods. The ideal candidate will work with minimal supervision and will take the initiative to see what is needed and respond without being asked.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Interact with incoming or outgoing Floor Person/ Team Lead at shift change to understand what materials ready and available, and what materials are needed for the start of the shift.

· Check each machine to know what jobs are running and what materials are being used.

· Bring mixed material to machines and fill hoppers as needed.

· Alert department Manager to machine, material, or personnel problems.

· Operate machines while operators are on break.

· Move finished goods from the Machine area to the Takeaway Zones.

· Perform inventory transactions (Quantity Moves) when moving finished goods.

· Keep machine areas clean and free of trash.

· Keep Molding Department aisles clean and free of trash.

· Alert manager of continuous improvement ideas and help with deployment and communication.

· Must be able to lift 50 lbs.

· Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: High School graduate or equivalent.

Required knowledge:

· Basic math skills

· Strong written and oral communication skills.

· Must have basic computer skills in Outlook and Microsoft.

· Ability to thrive in a fast- paced environment.

· Ability to multitask and reprioritize.

· Strong attention to detail.

· Must be able to work overtime as required.

Required Experience:

· Must be detailed oriented.

· Must be self-motivated and able to complete tasks with little assistance.

· Understands the importance of following documented procedures.

This position is for 2nd shift (3pm-11pm) Monday through Friday 40hrs a week plus overtime as necessary.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 - $16.00 per hour
