Job Title: Production Planner

Summary:
The Production Planner is responsible for managing the production planning process to ensure that manufacturing operations are aligned with production schedules, customer requirements, and inventory management goals. This role involves coordinating with various departments, forecasting production needs, and ensuring that resources are available to meet production targets efficiently. The Production Planner plays a key role in optimizing production capacity, reducing lead times, and supporting overall production objectives.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Develop and maintain production schedules based on customer orders, inventory levels, and production capacity.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., procurement, production, logistics) to ensure the timely availability of materials and resources required for production.
- Monitor and adjust production schedules to accommodate changes in demand, material shortages, or equipment issues.
- Analyze production data to forecast future material needs, production capacity, and potential production delays.
- Ensure that production orders are executed efficiently, on time, and in accordance with quality standards.
- Coordinate with the procurement team to ensure that raw materials and components are ordered in a timely manner to meet production schedules.
- Review and manage work orders, production schedules, and inventory levels to maintain optimal production flow and minimize downtime.
- Prepare and present regular reports on production progress, inventory status, and key performance metrics to management.
- Assist in identifying areas for process improvements and cost reductions in the production planning process.
- Provide training and mentorship to junior production planning staff, sharing best practices and supporting professional development.
- Ensure that all production planning activities comply with quality standards, safety regulations, and company policies.
- Perform other tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Strong knowledge of production planning, inventory management, and manufacturing processes.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing demands.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions and resolve production-related challenges.
- Proficient in using production planning software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.).
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective coordination across departments and with external vendors.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing projects and meeting deadlines.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; a Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, or a related field is preferred.
- 2 plus years of experience in production planning, manufacturing, or supply chain management, with at least 2 years in a senior or supervisory role.
- Experience with production scheduling, material planning, and ERP systems.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies is a plus.

Pay: From $65,000.00 per year
