Quality Inspector
Summary:
Performs manufactured product, material and hardware inspection or testing to applicable dimensions, specifications or other standards using standard hand tools or other supplied equipment. Applicable dimensions, specifications or other standards are communicated to this individual through Engineering drawing, procedure or work instruction. Individual performs this function under moderate supervision and may receive direction from Quality Inspector Level 3. May be required to report inspection results to Engineering, other Quality staff or other individuals within the Jedco organization. Other tasks related to dimensional inspection or testing may be assigned.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
Performs hardware and material release inspections.
Performs product layout inspections of complex, sheet metal components and assemblies.
Performs First Piece Approval in support of production.
Completes records or reports in accordance with applicable procedures and work instructions.
Communicates inspection results and assists in interpretation of results as required.
Other duties may be assigned.
Qualifications:
Must exhibit working knowledge of manufacturing processes utilized at Jedco and customer requirements associated with those processes. Must have excellent communication and organizational skills aligned with essential duties and responsibilities. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education and/or Experience:
-Must be able to communicate fluently in English (read, write, verbal).
-High School Diploma minimum, and Associates Degree preferred.
-Must have 2-3 years quality experience working in a manufacturing environment.
-Must be proficient at reading and understanding complex assembly blue prints.
-Must demonstrate a good understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
-Working experience with Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) is preferred.
-Must be proficient at layout inspections using standard measuring equipment such as height stands, micrometers and calipers.
