Consumer Loan ProcessorDescription

General Responsibilities
Responsible for performing a variety of duties to support the assigned consumer credit function; coordinating work within the unit or department, as well as with other departments and units; reporting pertinent information to the immediate supervisor responding to inquiries or requests for information; communicating with appropriate personnel, assisting the immediate supervisor with administrative tasks to support department/unit operations, maintaining appropriate records and providing assigned reports.Essential Duties

  1. Ensures that all activities and work functions adhere to compliance requirements as are defined in company policies and procedures as well as state/federal laws and regulations.
  1. Performs a variety of duties to support the assigned consumer credit function and/or credit analysis functions of which the following are illustrative:
  1. Assists with the consumer loan and mortgage application processing tasks, e.g., obtains required information, compiles data, etc. as directed.
  2. Verifies and processes a wide variety of credit information which will become part of the credit file, e.g., insurances, forms, etc.
  3. Performs various clerical duties ex. Ordering appraisals
  4. Files information and helps maintain consumer files ensuring that documentation is current, complete and sufficient.
  5. Processes bills to the appropriate account on a timely manner as needed.
  6. Prepares a variety of correspondence, such as adverse action notes; calculates payment estimates, amortization schedules and disclosures.
  1. Assists in the loan process, by entering loan information on documents preparation software in order to generate closing documents for various types of loans
  2. Coordinates specific work tasks with other personnel within the unit or department as well as with other units and departments in order to ensure the smooth and efficient flow of information.
  3. Cooperates with, participates in, and supports the adherence to all internal policies, procedures, and practices in support of risk management and overall safety and soundness, including but not limited to BSA and AML (cash secured loans, loans paid off too quickly).
  4. Reports pertinent information to the immediate supervisor as requested, or according to an established schedule; compiles information as necessary or as directed and provides data to appropriate bank personnel.
  5. Assists the immediate supervisor with various administrative tasks to support department/unit operations, as directed; may also be assigned special projects.
  6. Will assist consumer department with all duties that pertain the closing requirements.
  1. Lends support to the loan servicing and origination loan departments with various functions as needed.
  1. Assists with HMDA/CRA review by verifying completion and accuracy of information on loan applications.
  1. Obtains and maintains annually registration with the National Mortgage and Licensing System and Registry as required under the provisions of the SAFE Act.
  1. Assists in the achievement of goals assigned to the Consumer Department as part of the assigned department's annual operating plan.

Education/Training:A high school diploma or equivalent, preferred A.S. or degree in related field; specialized lending education and trainingSkill(s):Proficient reading, writing, and grammar skills; proficient mathematics skills; proficient computer skills, working knowledge of Microsoft Work and Excel: moderate interpersonal relations and communicative skills; moderate typing skills; moderate report-writing and analytical skills. Knowledge of lending preferredExperience:Minimum of one-year banking experience required.Full-Time/Part-Time
