Description
The primary purpose of your job description is to perform professional pharmaceutical care in the hospital. A staff pharmacist may be required to assume the essential responsibilities and perform the duties of the Pharmacy Director in his/her absence.
1. Assists to plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, and direct the pharmacy department, its programs and activities in the absence of the Pharmacy Director.
2. Assists in maintaining adequate drug supply.
3. Ensures that outdated or otherwise unusable drugs are identified, and their distribution and administration are prevented, as well as maintaining receipt of disposition of controlled substance.
4. Maintains strict control and accountability for drugs dispensed to patients or distributed to floor stock as well as drug storage and preparation areas throughout the facility.
5. Provides direct supervision for pharmacy technicians and assists with orientation and training.
6. Demonstrates clear and concise communications written and oral to employees.
7. Verifies medication orders in the EMR system for patients.
8. Maintains Antimicrobial Stewardship data.
Hours:
Saturday and Sunday 7:30-11:30am every 4-6 weeks.
Qualifications
- Maintains a current license with Georgia State Board of Pharmacy.
- Fifth year college or university program certificate.
- 2-4 years of related experience and/or training in administration and clinical area.
- Or equivalent combination of education and experience
5. Ability to respond to common inquires or complaints form customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
6. Ability to present information to top management, public groups and/or board of directors.
7. Ability to apply such concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
8. Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems.
9. Ability to solve nonverbal symbolism (formulas, scientific equations, graphs, musical notes, etc.) in its most difficult phases. Ability to work with a variety of abstract and concrete variables.
