What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pastry Assistant position at Jeff Ruby Culinary Entertainment Inc?
Position Overview:
Responsible for properly preparing various types of Pastries & Desserts and to ensure that all presentations are aesthetically appealing and adhere to the Jeff Ruby standard of quality
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare all pastry items in accordance to company approved recipes
- Ensure that all dessert components are fully stocked and prepared for service
- Follows all safety and health rules for sanitary food handling and kitchen cleanliness
- Daily set up of workstation and keeps it neat and clean
- Assists CCM & CCA with monthly inventory counts, controls, and follow up
- Assists coworkers to ensure efficient operation of the line
- Review and comprehend recipes and other necessary documentation.
Qualifications:
- Food preparation knowledge and line work experience
- Ability to operate various cooking equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret recipes.
- At least a year’s training at a culinary institute or previous restaurant training and experience required.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand and walk during 6-to-8-hour shifts
- Ability to travel to all Cincinnati locations.
- Ability to reach, bend, stoop, and wipe.
- Ability to lift and carry supplies and equipment up to 60 pounds and place items on high and low shelves in storerooms and freezers.
- Ability to work in an environment that is subject to varying levels of heat and noise
