We are seeking an experienced Body Shop Estimator for our Superior Hyundai Collision Center. This is a Salary Commission job, so income is unlimited.
Job Title: Body Shop Estimator
Job Summary
Appraises vehicle damage to determine the cost of repair for customer pay.
Experienced Body Shop Estimator - Essential Duties
- Examine the damaged vehicle to determine the extent of structural, body, mechanical, or interior damage.
- Estimates the cost of labor and parts to repair or replace each damaged item.
- Reviews repair cost estimates with the body shop manager or foreman.
- Determines feasibility of repair versus replacement of parts, such as bumpers, fenders, and doors.
- Evaluates the practicality of repair as opposed to payment of vehicle market value before the accident.
- Determines salvage value on total vehicle loss.
- Prepare insurance forms to indicate repair cost estimates and recommendations.
- Estimates the cost of repainting, converting to special purposes, or customizing undamaged vehicles.
- Other tasks as assigned.
Body Shop Estimator - Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Body Shop Estimator - Education and/or Experience
- 3-5 years experience as an estimator with both CCC and Mitchell estimating software knowledge preferably.
- Dealership experience preferred.
