ABOUT THE SCHOOL/DEPARTMENT


Originally established in 1896, Wheat Ridge is a comprehensive school that has served as the hub of the community for generations. PRE-EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENT


The successful new hire or rehired candidate will be responsible to complete and incur the fingerprinting and processing fee of $54.50 through an appropriate fingerprinting vendor and the Colorado Bureau of Investigation, within 48 hours of offer acceptance.

RESPONSIBILITIES


SUMMARY: Assist the AP Coordinator in the areas of monitoring of candidates during testing, distributing materials, and other duties with regard to the administration of the AP exams.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Work with the AP coordinator to ensure administration of AP exams runs efficiently.

Read and understand AP Coordinator Manual for appropriate security and other procedures.

Read all the general and the appropriate subject-specific exam administration instructions to understand the flow of the administration.

Prepare the exam rooms.

Setup exam equipment (CD players, computers, or tape recorders).

Admit and seat students.

Monitor the test area to ensure that candidates are not colluding, or committing any other improprieties or irregularities.

Promptly alerting the AP Coordinator to any such irregularities.

Maintain any check-in logs or seating charts, as required.

Assist with testing accommodations, as requested.

Cooperate in research and surveys sponsored by the AP testing service.

Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND TRAINING: High school diploma/GED required.

EXPERIENCE: Previous AP Proctor experience preferred.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, & EQUIPMENT: Requires basic language, math, writing, and organization skills and knowledge of general office equipment.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, & REGISTRATIONS: None required. If active CDE licensure is held, fingerprinting is not required. If not licensed by CDE, fingerprinting must be completed.

SUPERVISION/TECHNICAL RESPONSIBILITY: This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

CONTACTS: Daily contact with persons in the same work unit or building, persons in other departments, students, and parents to provide service.

SAFETY TO SELF AND OTHERS: Low exposure to self to cuts and bruises due to typical office accidents.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.

MENTAL FUNCTIONS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate and use interpersonal skills. The employee is frequently required to analyze, coordinate, compile, evaluate, synthesize, and compute. The employee is occasionally required to copy, instruct, and negotiate.

JUDGMENT AND DECISION MAKING: Work is assigned by supervisor. Requires judgment, decision making, and analytical skills to determine manner and operational steps necessary to properly handle inquiries and perform daily tasks within professional standards. Decision making is guided by Board, District, department, and/or school policies and procedures. Decision making may require collaboration with supervisor, administrators, certificated or classified staff, parents, and/or students. Errors in decision making could lead to the communication of inaccurate data, resulting in loss of confidence in the department or unit. Supervisor is occasionally involved in decision making.

DIVERSITY OF DUTIES: Duties require cross training general office equipment. Duties and actions impact individuals within the department and/or building.
