SUMMARY Provide direct classroom instruction using Tools of the Mind Curriculum to meet the needs of all children. Complete periodic student assessment, observations and documentation as required with the state mandated assessment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.
Attended all training for Tools of the Mind Curriculum and state mandated assessment as provided by the Early Childhood Office.
Implement all aspects of curriculum and assessment as designed.
Enter assessment data as required.
Work collaboratively with co-teacher, Director, to provide program to meet the individual needs of all children.
Maintain classroom routine. Share all classroom responsibilities with co-teacher, including: classroom environment, weekly planning, preparation of materials.
Daily responsibilities include but are not limited to: ability to work at children's level; ability to change diapers, assist with toileting as needed; respond to any child's safety needs; assist at nap time in full-day programs if applicable; bending, stooping, lifting are part of the daily requirements to meet the needs of young children in the classroom.
Participate in planning for summer program.
Perform other duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE Minimum one year teaching experience with preschool children. Three years teaching experience; experience with preschool curricumum and assessment preferred.
QUALIFICATIONS High School Diploma/GED required and Group Leader qualified required. Associates degree or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood or Elementary Education preferred.
