ABOUT THE JOB


SUMMERTIME IS NEAR - and the SAE Team is looking to hire qualified support staff for the Kyffin SAE Program!

Starting Pay $22.07 per hour for Program Leaders

Opportunities for Program Leaders (wage range $20.82 - $22.44 per hour) are available for those 18 or older with 460 documented hours working with groups of 4 or more children ages 5 - 12

  • The SAE Team is looking to hire a Program Leader to start with our team this summer or mid-May 2025
  • Program Leader positions require a minimum of 460 hours documented experience with 4 or more children ages 5-12, and a minimum age of 18. Documented hours are required to be submitted before an offer can be made
  • Hourly wage is $22.07 - $23.79 (based on education and experience)
  • Part-time position is located at Kyffin Elementary (Golden, CO) with the Before & After School Program (School Age Enrichment or SAE)
  • Position will sub at other SAE sites as needed. SAE programs are spread out in Jeffco and can be South, North, or Centrally located
  • Summer positions run from approximately mid-May thru mid-August (opportunities for continued employment during 2025 - 2026 School Year at many SAE sites throughout Jeffco)
  • Shifts vary but are generally 3 - 8 hours Monday - Friday anytime between 7:00am - 5:30pm
  • Each site will take field trips twice a week and be on site 3 days each week. Staff going on field trips are required to ride a Jeffco School Bus

PRE-EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENT


The successful new hire or rehired candidate will be responsible to complete 2 sets of fingerprints and incur the fingerprinting and processing fee of $56.00 through an appropriate fingerprinting vendor and the Colorado Bureau of Investigation, within 48 hours of offer acceptance.


To be in compliance with licensing requirements, new SAE hires must also complete a CDEC Background Check request (
Trails Review). Out-of-state backgrounds checks may also be requested, if applicable.

RESPONSIBILITIES


SUMMARY
Provide assistance to the Director in all aspects of managing the School Age Enrichment Programs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned by the Site Director, SAE Coordinators and/or Administrator.

Assist Program Director in managing and maintaining daily operations of Before and After School Program. Including but not limited to program set up, formal attendance and daily schedule.

Practice active supervision and whole area awareness to ensure safety of children.

Assist with planning, preparation and implementation of program activities. Engage students in enrichment activities, games, field trips, and homework.

Ensure appropriate staff-to-child ratio as per District and State guidelines.

Responsible for understanding, implementing and maintaining all District, SAE, Colorado Department of Human Services and Health Department policies and procedures including all required licensing expectations.

Maintain required certification and training as required by District and State childcare laws, such as CPR/First Aid, Universal Precautions, etc.

Regularly substitute at other SAE sites on a short or long term assignments.

Establish and maintain open, collaborative and supportive relationship with all staff including elementary school staff, children, parents and SAE Central Office. Lead by example to foster team work and act with integrity to maintain a professional work environment.

Secure building, equipment, and program per District and department guidelines. Ensure areas and equipment used by program is cleaned and maintained.

Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND TRAINING: High school diploma or equivalent.

EXPERIENCE Must have three (3) months of full time or equivalent part-time satisfactory and verifiable experience with school-age children.

QUALIFICATIONS Must be at least 18 years of age and demonstrate an ability to work with children. Must be flexible and available for short and long term subbing assignments at all SAE Sites as directed by the SAE Director.

Ability to meet physical needs of students.
