ABOUT THE SCHOOL/DEPARTMENT
Our staff and students take pride in our inclusive culture; Special Education students are served via co-teaching practices and we offer an innovative and inclusive program for students with significant needs. AWHS offers 26 Varsity level sports with approximately 1000 students participating. This position works extensively with our team supporting the needs of 504 students with secretarial support, appointment setting, and documentation follow up. In addition, this person will work closely with our PBIS team in attendance documentation and support.

PRE-EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENT
The successful new hire or rehired candidate will be responsible to complete and incur the fingerprinting and processing fee of $54.50 through an appropriate fingerprinting vendor and the Colorado Bureau of Investigation, within 48 hours of offer acceptance.
RESPONSIBILITIES
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Assist School Assessment Coordinator (SAC) with coordination and scheduling of all school assessments (e.g. PARCC, CMAS, MAP, CogAT, DIBELS, CoAlt, etc.).
Support administrator(s) and teachers with scheduling of meetings for special populations (e.g. IEP, 504, Advanced Learning Plan (ALP), English Language Learners (ELL), Mental Health, etc.)
Attend to teacher needs, coordinating assessment data for professional learning community team meetings, parent/teacher conferences, modified contact days, and community events.
Prepare documents at teacher/coach/administration direction for READ plan conferences, 504 meetings, IEP meetings.
Coordinate and distribute relevant correspondence for READ plan meetings and ALP meetings.
Support special education teachers, especially itinerant SPED team members during team meetings, IEP meetings, and as otherwise directed by administrator.
Assist Digital Teacher Librarian with various clerical functions including inventory, cataloguing, and instructional technology support.
Coordinate with teachers to organize and provide training/support to parent volunteers.
Attend team/Professional Learning Community meetings with instructional coach, as needed, to support connection between instruction and SAC responsibilities. Take minutes and distribute to staff. and take minutes.
Act as public relations agent for parents contacting the school, including answering phones, sending and replying to emails, and greeting families at school events.
Coordinate all field trips and act as liaison between teachers and financial secretary, cafeteria manager, and health room; attend field trips to support teachers with students who have significant medical concerns as directed by area nurse.
Complete and organize all materials and scheduling for assemblies, night events, school tours and other tasks that require facility manager support.
Assist principal?s secretary with scheduling interviews and preparing interview documents.
Provide additional support to main office with duties as needed, including serving as a backup to principal and school secretary.
Ability to prioritize multiple and competing requests and tasks.
Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND TRAINING: High school diploma/GED required.
EXPERIENCE: 2-3 years secretarial experience. Experience in department/unit functions preferred.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, & EQUIPMENT: Requires oral and written communications, interpersonal, organizational, public relations, phone etiquette, and advanced computer and software skills (Microsoft Office - Windows, Word, Excel as well as web-based tools - MAP, CMAS, Lexia, Moby Max etc.), Internet, e-mail and general office equipment at time of hire. Ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines. Ability to maintain confidentiality in all aspects of the job. May be required to take the District Skills Assessment Test as part of the application process.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, & REGISTRATIONS: First Aid & CPR Certificate highly recommended.
SUPERVISION/TECHNICAL RESPONSIBILITY: May serve as a lead on defined projects and/or be partially accountable for training, providing general instruction, and reviewing the work of others performing the same or directly related work. Act as a resource for departmental staff and for individuals directing inquiries to department.
CONTACTS: Daily contact with teachers and administration, personnel within/outside department/building, students, parents, vendors/suppliers, general public, applicants, and/or District advisory committees to maintain relationships, resolve problems, and negotiate matters. May involve routine and/or confidential matters.
