PRE-EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENT
The successful new hire or rehired candidate will be responsible to complete and incur the fingerprinting and processing fee of $54.50 through an appropriate fingerprinting vendor and the Colorado Bureau of Investigation, within 48 hours of offer acceptance.
RESPONSIBILITIES
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following
Plan, schedule, assign, and coordinate work, issues, and decisions related to systems projects, such as IEP computer systems.
Work collaboratively with vendors for the IEP system software and other SPED related software products to meet federal, state and district compliance indicators.
Analyze, document, monitor, and develop district Special Education processes and requirements, both in responding to requests from others and initializing ideas related to District data collection and reporting needs.
Project/process management of data reporting to state and external entities as needed.
Create, design, and maintain department communication via a variety of means.
Design, develop, implement, and support in-person and online professional development for District assessment application
Systems, Special Education processes, and reporting documents.
Confer and problem-solve with Special Education Leadership for strategic planning and implementation of department goals and initiatives.
Respond to requests from Special Education licensed staff in schools and assist with how to best address the issue.
Work collaboratively with special education leadership and district staff to problem solve issues when data is incorrect or incomplete and be able to effectively communicate results.
Perform other duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE 5 years' of experience as a licensed Special Education teacher or Special Service Provider in a public K-12 school district that uses an electronic IEP system.
EDUCATION AND TRAINING Bachelor Degree required. Coursework in project management, business analytics, or business process management preferred.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS Current Colorado Teacher License with SPED endorsements or a Special Service Provider License.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, & EQUIPMENT Requires strong system thinking; analytical and organizational skills; oral and written communications skills; interpersonal communication skills; and conflict resolution. Must be able to problem solve, involve appropriate stakeholders, and make decisions in real time. Proficiency in legacy and state-of-the-art computer systems. Ability to stay current with changes in technology. Knowledge of software programs used to develop, design, and deliver staff training.
DECISION MAKING Responsible for reviewing and planning all data team projects weekly to assess the scope of technical requirements and scheduled deadlines. Will assign work to appropriate staff and monitor progress toward completion in order to meet federal, state, and department deadlines. Delays in timelines could cause the District to be responsible for federal sanctions that impact District funding. Errors could potentially result in substantial embarrassment and/or cost to the District.
COMMUNITY RELATIONS The person in this role will need to effectively communicate with staff, special education leadership, and the Colorado Department of Education.
SPAN OF CONTROL May have supervisory responsibilities.
EDUCATIONAL DELIVERY Provide assessment and attitudinal data to leadership, staff, principals, schools, other school districts, and Colorado Department of Education in order to guide strategic planning and instructional practice. The majority of time is not spent on the school site.
COMPLEXITY OF WORK Work is assigned by the Executive Director or Director of Special Education Must have ability to manage data projects for the department; make decisions on how to best meet deadlines, prevent/correct errors, and resolve/troubleshoot problems. Most of these decisions will be independent of the Executive Director or Director. Must be able to think strategically and translate strategies into real solutions. Must have strong relationship building abilities and ability to tactfully deliver the message to the person receiving the recommendation. These solutions/recommendations are often given to executives, directors, and managers.
