Job Description
Job Summary : The Desktop Engineering Manager will oversee the desktop engineering team, ensuring the efficient operation, maintenance, and support of all desktop systems within the organization. This role involves managing a team of engineers and consultants, implementing new technologies, and optimizing existing systems to enhance performance and security.
Key Responsibilities :
- Team Leadership : Lead and mentor a team of desktop engineers, providing guidance and support to ensure high performance and professional growth.
- System Management : Oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of desktop systems, including hardware, software, and peripherals.
- Performance Optimization : Monitor system performance and implement improvements to enhance efficiency and user experience.
- Security : Implement and manage security protocols to protect desktop systems from threats and vulnerabilities.
- Product Management : Create a vision and roadmap of the technology stack, with KPI's, metrics, and financials.
- Project Management : Plan and execute desktop engineering projects, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budget.
- Technical Support : Provide advanced technical support for complex issues, collaborating with other IT teams, as necessary.
- Deep Troubleshooting : low-level data (log, kernel, etc.) analysis of the Windows OS to find root cause of issues.
- Documentation : Maintain comprehensive documentation of desktop configurations, processes, and procedures.
- Vendor Management : Manage relationships with hardware and software vendors, ensuring the best value and service for the organization.
- Compliance : Ensure all desktop systems comply with company policies and industry regulations.
- Microsoft Technologies : Manage and optimize Microsoft technologies, including SCCM (System Center Configuration Manager), Intune, and Windows 11.
- Software Packaging : Oversee software packaging and deployment processes to ensure efficient and reliable application delivery.
- Group Policy Management : Develop and manage Group Policy Objects (GPOs) to enforce security settings and configurations across the organization.
- JAMF Management : Integrate and manage JAMF for macOS devices, ensuring compliance and security standards are met.
- Digital Experience Tools : Utilize digital experience monitoring tools like Lakeside and Nexthink to gather and analyze metrics, enhancing the digital employee experience.
- Virtualization Technologies : Optimize the VDI experience with strong knowledge of the Citrix brokering platform and IGEL thin clients

The salary offered will take into consideration an individual's experience level and qualifications.
