JOB FUNCTION:
The Senior Trust Investment Advisor is responsible for providing investment and portfolio management services to the Jefferson Bank Trust Department. This role is dedicated to servicing Jefferson Bank’s Trust Department and is generally responsible for establishing account investment objectives and strategy, provide investment recommendations, trading, performance oversight, conduct monthly investment reviews, and communicate with trust officers and clients to understand and meet client investment needs.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Serve as a dedicated partner and resource to the Trust Department advising on all investment related matters for accounts managed in the Trust Department.
- Participate in client meetings to provide investment related advice and discuss investment strategies/models and the implications of such strategies.
- Identify, cultivate, and track new business opportunities.
- Accompany trust officers on prospective client calls.
- Serve as liaison between Trust Department and 1900 Wealth, Jefferson Bank’s wholly owned Registered Investment Advisor, as well as other third-party managers, to understand investment strategies, strategy changes, market and economic outlook, cash management strategy, and strategy performance.
- Lead third party investment manager research and due diligence to include annual reviews, quarterly performance reviews, and necessary due diligence when onboarding a new third party manager.
- Primarily responsible for trading all accounts managed by the Trust Department
- Serve as Trust Operations liaison on all investment operational tasks.
- Review accounts as contributions, distributions, asset allocation changes or other changes occur to ensure accounts are in line with investment policy statement.
- Guide and oversee portfolio construction, including the divestiture of existing assets and transition from one investment strategy to another.
- Monitor and audit cash balances:
- Track uninvested cash and make recommendations.
- Monitor and resolve overdrafts.
- Perform depletion analysis and communicate to trust officers.
- Prepare investment performance reports and presentations as needed for client meetings and client responses.
- Primary relationship lead related to investment related questions from clients and trust officers, and other professionals within the department.
- Responsible for new account and monthly account investment reviews. Review exceptions and recommend strategies to resolve exceptions.
- Advisory Member of Trust Committee, Trust Administrative Committee, and Trust Investment Committee.
- Responsible for organizing and running the quarterly TIC meetings. Compile and present data for TIC meetings.
- Remain abreast of market and economic developments.
- Participate in marketing outreach including public relations, communications, and events.
- Work collaboratively with 1900 Wealth team members and across Jefferson Bank.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Work Experience
- 12 years’ of wealth management experience, which may include relationship or portfolio management, private banking, fiduciary, or other related services advising high net worth clients.
Supervisory Experience
- None
Education/Skills
- Bachelor’s degree from accredited university.
- CFP or Series 65 required (or must obtain within 90-days of hire date)
Position Includes Driving
- Yes, valid driver’s license required.
Equipment/Machines/Software
- Excellent computer literacy in all Microsoft programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
- Proficiency in Adobe Acrobat.
- Experience with internet, search engines, browsers and general PC connectivity.
- Ability to work with office equipment such as copiers, scanners (Install, support and troubleshoot), shredders, and fax and other electronic devices.
- Experience working with performance reporting systems
- Experience working with Infovisa, or other trust accounting system, considered a plus

Physical Requirements
- Must be able to reach, bend and lift files up to 20lbs.
- Must be able to sit/stand for most of the day in front of a computer.
- Must be able to speak to and hear customers.
- Must be able to be mobile in an office environment to access file cabinets, office machines and other office equipment used.
- Must be able to type on a keyboard and read a computer screen.
