What are the responsibilities and job description for the POCUS Fellowship- Department of Medicine position at Jefferson - Center City, Philadelphia, PA?
One-year fellowship designed for internists to achieve proficiency in POCUS and also to become leaders in this emerging niche of Internal Medicine. Fellows will work clinically part-time in the Division of Hospital Medicine as a night hospitalist at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. Responsibilities will include supervision of admitting residents, and direct care of hospital medicine patients on non-housestaff services performing both cross coverage and admitting duties. Nocturnists work 12 hour shifts in a team of 3 in house attendings per night. Fellowship training involves weekly ultrasound shifts with graded supervision by faculty divided between inpatient, outpatient, ED, and ICU; Weekly Quality Assurance, Imaging review, and Journal club; Flexible clinical schedule; Research and project mentorship; Participation in regional and national ultrasound conferences; Development of administrative skills, experience to credential colleagues in POCUS, and experience to conduct a quality assurance program.
