The Director of Business Development and Community Engagement is a strategic leadership role responsible for the cultivation of strategic partnerships and referral relationships that lead to revenue growth and increased service utilization across Jefferson Center’s programs and services. The position will serve as a primary ambassador for Jefferson Center in the community and actively influence and monitor policy that impacts Jefferson Center. The position will manage the community engagement team that is focused on raising awareness about the importance of supporting behavioral health, how to connect to services and resources, and delivering Mental Health First Aid, Suicide Prevention, and other trainings to the community.

Key Responsibilities
Strategic Planning and Execution:
- Develop and implement comprehensive business development strategies aligned with organizational goals and objectives.
- Conduct market analysis to identify emerging trends, potential partnerships, and new revenue streams.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to define long-term business objectives and growth targets.
- Lead cross-functional teams to execute strategic initiatives and ensure alignment with overall business goals.
- Identify and cultivate relationships with key stakeholders, including healthcare providers, payers, community-based organizations, state departments, and industry partners.
- Manage ongoing relationships with partners to maximize value and achieve strategic objectives.
- Monitor partnership performance and address any issues or challenges in a timely manner.
- Explore and evaluate new and existing business opportunities.
- Develop and present business cases for potential growth initiatives to senior leadership and board members.
- Lead due diligence processes and coordinate with legal, financial, and operational teams to assess feasibility.
- Conduct thorough market research to understand the competitive landscape and identify potential threats and opportunities.
- Analyze industry trends, customer needs, and regulatory changes to inform business development strategies.
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of the organization's programs, services, and value propositions.
- Provide insights and recommendations to senior leadership based on market intelligence and data analysis.
- Advise senior management on policy issues and regulatory developments.
- Cultivate strong relationships with elected officials, state agencies, mental health, and other aligned advocacy organizations.
- Engage with lobbying firm and serve on committees/workgroups to advance policy, legislation, and state agency rules and regulations that advance Jefferson Center’s mission.
- Build and lead a high-performing community engagement team, providing mentorship, guidance, and support.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement within the team.
- Set performance goals and objectives for team members and conduct regular performance evaluations.
- Identify and address skill gaps and training needs to ensure team members are equipped for success.
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Management, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in business development, with a proven track record of success in the healthcare industry.
- Strong understanding of healthcare market dynamics, regulatory environment, and industry trends.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and execute strategic plans and drive business growth.
- Proven leadership and team management capabilities.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to leverage data and market insights to inform decision-making.
- Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and ethical standards.

Salary Grade 18 - $94,100 to $116,700*
Additional Salary Information*:
- The salary range above is based on 1.0 FTE (full time equivalent) or 40 hours per week. Less than 40 hours/week will be prorated and adjusted to the appropriate FTE.*
Salary : $18,000 - $94,100
