POSITION TITLE: Teacher - Prenger Family Center

FLSA: Exempt

QUALIFICATIONS: Must hold any certification to include any grades 6-12

REPORTS TO: Building Principal

Essential Job Functions

Supervise and monitor students assigned to the Prenger Family Center.

Knowledge And Abilities

• Applicant should have knowledge of school and classroom rules, procedures and practices.
• Applicant must have the ability to interpret and establish appropriate rules, methods and techniques in maintaining a disciplined academic environment.
• Applicant must have strong interpersonal skills and patience.
• Applicant must have experience working with students and knowledge of conflict resolution techniques is strongly encouraged.
  
  

Duties And Responsibilities

• Provide supervision for students who are assigned to the Prenger Family Center classroom.
• Take daily attendance.
• Work with students and or other Prenger staff members on issues such as behavior management and the prevention of undesirable behaviors.
• Engage the students’ online learning experiences for the range of skill levels and developmental needs that are presented.
• Monitor students’ online progress; provide encouragement and feedback to students, monitor tests, computer work and provide instructional assistance as appropriate.
  
  

Education And Experience

• Teacher Certification: Any content certification to include any grades 6-12
• Operating knowledge of computers
• Experience in working with middle school and high school age students
• Must be able to handle and react to potential student misbehavior and take appropriate action
  
  

Other Job Functions

• Abide by state statutes, school board policies and regulations.
• Attend meetings and perform duties as assigned by administrators or supervisors.
• Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
• Maintain accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy and administrative regulation.
• Work closely with Prenger Family Center staff with regard to their procedures and supervision.
• Provide services related to Home School Coordinator responsibilities.
