MENTAL HEALTH / BEHAVIORAL SPECIALIST

POSITION OVERVIEW: The Mental Health/Behavioral Specialist will be responsible for overseeing the Mental Health Services for the Head Start program. They will provide assistance in the classrooms and homes for children experiencing behavioral issues and develop plans to improve children’s behavior. This position will also provide training and support for staff and parents on implementing program wide PBIS and on parenting/social emotional development. They should possess excellent written and verbal communication skills and be capable of working with diverse populations.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

Level A – Must have completed a master’s degree (or higher) or a post-masters certificate and possess the Pennsylvania License for Behavior Specialist or a Licensed Social Worker with preference for a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. Preference given to individuals with knowledge of child development from the birth – five age group and with experience implementing Positive Behavior Intervention and Support (PBIS).

Entry level: Commensurate with education and experience (minimum $ 30.05 per hour)

Full-time Position: Monday – Friday, Approx. 40 hours/week
