Classification Summary
Incumbent is responsible for leading and managing the Jefferson College Foundation initiatives, including fundraising, community engagement, and legislative outreach. Initiate, coordinate, and evaluate all fundraising activities for the College. Responsibilities also include reporting fundraising activities and Foundation finances to the Board of Directors; managing grants; identifying and cultivating potential major financial supporters; securing annual, bequest and capital campaign gifts; collaborating with College leadership and stakeholders; alumni engagement; and providing supervision to department staff.
Minimum Education and/or Training and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Business or a related field and six years of progressive experience in a related area, including at least two years in a supervisory role.
Preferred Education and/or Training and Experience
Master’s degree in a related field and four years of experience in a related area, including at least one year in a supervisory role.

- Develop and execute a comprehensive fundraising strategy that utilizes data, trends, and best practices to support institutional goals. (D6)
- Identify, cultivate, and solicit major gifts from individuals, corporations, and foundations. (C4)
- Report to the Board of Directors on fundraising activities and Foundation finances; coordinate communication, membership, and development of the board. (D6)
- Oversee Foundation special events and grant-writing initiatives and ensure alignment with the College’s strategic priorities. (D6)
- Manage annual giving campaigns, planned giving programs, and capital campaigns, including identifying and cultivating potential major financial supporters through research and networking, both in person and online. (D6)
- Develop and implement a strategic alumni relations engagement program and foster relationships with alumni to encourage involvement and philanthropic support. (D6)
- Oversee special events that support fundraising and ensure alignment with the College’s strategic priorities. (C4)
- Oversee the administration of student emergency grants and employee funding requests. (C4)
- Coordinate legislative outreach activities and ensure accurate and positive College representation to legislators and legislative groups. (D6)
- Provide leadership, direction, and supervisory oversight to the Development Assistant and Development Specialist. (C4)
- In partnership with the Director of Marketing, manage and oversee the College’s civic/community engagement relationships. (D6)
- Collaborate and communicate with administration, faculty, and staff and actively participate in College meetings, including but not limited to, Board of Trustees meetings, institutional committees, committees and task forces. (D6)
- Plan, recommend, and implement policies and procedures as necessary, including but not limited to the Memorandum of Understanding and Foundation Bylaws. (D6)
- Perform other related duties of a comparable level/type as assigned.
