Classification Summary
This class is the first level in the Academic Success Center series. Incumbents participate in delivering all academic services provided by the Foundations Lab. Incumbents also maintain records, refer students to relevant college services, and promote the services of the Foundations Lab.
Minimum Education and/or Training and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in related field.

Classification Duties
1. Provide academic support to students who are preparing for assessment and placement into college courses. (B2)
2. Provide academic support for students in college courses in person and online. (B2)
3. Provide academic support for students registered with Accessibility Resource Office. (B2)
4. Provide mentoring and referral services for students in college courses. (B2)
5. Provide recommendations for materials, resources, and the operations of the Foundations Lab in an effort to promote continual improvement. (B2)
6. Maintain all forms and reporting documents as needed so as to provide information on the operations and the assessment of the Foundations Lab services. (B2)
7. Attend classes, workshops and/or seminars to maintain, update and increase knowledge in subject areas and in the delivery of the Foundations Lab Services. Also attend Foundations Lab and Jefferson College meetings. (B2)
8. Perform other related duties as required.

1. Meet with students individually or in small groups to provide instruction and guidance in advanced mathematics topics, such as college algebra up to calculus, using a variety of teaching methods.
2. Assess student progress and adjust instruction to ensure understanding and mastery of mathematical concepts.
