Classification Summary

Minimum Education and/or Training and Experience
Provisionally licensed as a PLPC or LMSW in the State of Missouri and is actively under clinical supervision for clinical hours or is in pursuance of clinical supervisor for licensure.
Preferred Education and/or Training and Experience
The preferred qualification for a mental health professional is a master’s degree in a relevant mental health discipline from a regionally accredited institution of higher education and a LPC or LMSW.

Classification Duties
- Provide direct service appointments (face-to-face contact with students, including intake, individual/group counseling, crisis intervention, and face-to-face clinical supervision) continuously. (C4)
- Non-direct service activities include, but are not limited to, clinical supervision, administrative tasks, client referrals, case management, consultation, meetings, research, professional development, teaching, and maintenance of client records. (C4)
- Provide consultation services, as requested, to students, faculty, and staff within the college. Ensure compliance with confidentiality laws. (C4)
- Provide appropriate training and supervision to interns, as applicable. (C4)
- Design and conduct developmental and outreach program activities. Serve as a member of the Vikings Care student wellbeing subcommittee. Assist with enhancing the ASPEN Network Inc. referral, self-screener, and resource directory implementation. Facilitate psychoeducation/training opportunities and prevention programs for students regularly with regard to alcohol and other drugs, suicide awareness, violence prevention, and other wellness topics, as needed and as identified in student well-being surveys. (C4)
- Perform other assigned functions that contribute to the service offerings of Student Wellness and Counseling Services and the academic mission of the institution, such as teaching, committee work, department and office staff meetings, training and professional development, liaison with academic or administrative units, and participation in college program development. - Participate in research and service evaluation activities. Assist with developing, implementing, and evaluating strategic goals related to programming, services, and education associated with student well-being and counseling services. (C4)
- Assist with developing, implementing, communicating, training, and assessing policies and procedures to raise awareness and monitor students exhibiting concerning behavior, crises, and emergencies. (C4)
- Perform other related duties of a comparable level/type as assigned.
