Jefferson Community College, Watertown, New York, part of the State University of New York (SUNY) System, is conducting a search for a full-time Educational Planner - Veterans Services. Responsibilities include academic advising, educational planning, career and transfer advising, and retention support for the student military population at Jefferson. Serving student veterans, military and dependents, this position will ensure the implementation of program activities and services designed to enhance their educational experiences. This position provides seamless and exceptional service through personalized support and attention that fosters student success and engagement. This position works closely with external agencies at the state and federal levels whose work affects the lives of veterans, military, and their family members. Overnight travel, evening and weekend commitments will be required. Professional staff are expected to advance the College's focus on student success and completion and will work closely with the College's leadership to advance the mission of the current Strategic Plan.
Required: Bachelor's Degree and 3 years of appropriate professional experience.
Preferred: Master's Degree in Counseling, Higher Education, Educational Administration or related area. A minimum of three years of experience in program planning, budget formulation, and management. Experience in counseling, college admissions, advising or student financial aid is highly desirable.
Salary: $47,589 - $52,347 for well-qualified individuals. Salary is determined based upon experience and education in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement as well as internal equity.
