Jefferson County Board Developmental Disabilities (JCBDD) is seeking Substitute Instructor Aides for the JCBDD School of Bright Promise locatedin Steubenville, OH. This position requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and an Ohio State Board of Education Educational Aide Permit which can be obtained through training at JCBDD.

Responsibilities
- Assists in the programming as outlined in students’ Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Assists in teaching children daily living skills, including but not limited to: feeding, toileting and changing, dressing and undressing, and personal hygiene
- Assists in loading and unloading of busses and provides supervision to children while they enter, exit, and move about the building, playground area, and other program areas
- Prepares materials, sanitizes, and organizes classroom learning materials and equipment
- Supervises individual students or small groups of students independently from the instructor either in the classroom or in other areas of agency buildings or in the community in order to carry out activities identified or planned by the instructor as necessary
- Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with students, peers, educators, and administrative staff
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent is required
- Ohio State Board of Education (SBOE) Educational Aide Permit is required
- Previous experience working in a school or as an educational aide is preferred
- Previous experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred
- Maintain a positive attitude and effectively communicate with building occupants, administration, and JCBDD leadership to perform daily tasks.
