The Parts Technician plays a key role in the procurement, distribution, and inventory management of parts and supplies for fleet vehicle and equipment maintenance. This position ensures accurate inventory counts across multiple Fleet Services locations and maintains proper stock levels.
Key responsibilities include:
- Tracking and managing inventory across various fleet service shops.
- Organizing and maintaining parts inventory at each location.
- Receiving, labeling, and logging parts into the fleet tracking system.
- Ensuring the assigned fleet vehicle is properly maintained and up to date on routine service.
- Coordinating the pickup and delivery of parts and supplies to fleet shops.
This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to effectively manage inventory across multiple locations.
Please note this is not a remote work position. This full-time position will work on-site, with work schedule to be discussed during interviews.
Hiring Range: $27.00 - $30.00 USD Hourly
Compensation will be determined based on education, experience, and skills.

Essential Duties:
The Parts Technician responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Parts Counter Responsibilities
- Look up and source parts based off technician parts requests.
- Communicate to mechanics and supervisors parts availability and lead times.
- Weekly stock orders and stock transfers.
- Handle all incoming reqs and phone calls.
- Researching parts suppliers, choosing the best vendors based on price, quality and availability.
- Receive parts/supplies invoices.Charging parts and supplies to the correct work order. Misc supply workorder billed daily.
- Take pictures of new parts that are received.
- Check on all open parts still outstanding/ waiting to arrive.
- Process procurement card verifications and input invoices into Sharepoint daily.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization at all shop warehouses. Emptying trashes and recycling each week at Central Heavy warehouse.
- Safely operating a forklift to move inventory in the warehouse.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Inventory Responsibilities
- Maintaining an accurate record of inventory depletion levels and reorder stock in a timely fashion to ensure inventory is always available as needed.
- Monthly cyclical inventory counts.
- Add locations for new parts coming in/reorganize shelving as new parts arrive.
- Track/ lookup/research any Inventory discrepancies.
- Look at par levels and adjust as needed for new and old parts.
- Look at obsolete parts every 2 years.
- Maintain the maintenance/cleanliness of the parts truck.
- Loading, transporting, and delivering parts to multiple county shops and locations in a safe, timely manner.
- Quarterly ordering of bulk fluids, supplies and gasses for all shops.
- Verify Bulk DEF orders as needed/ Weekly Check.
- Tracking tire disposals and core returns to vendors.
- Make end of year surplus orders if funds are left over to do so.
- Scan and file: Requisitions, Transfers, Inventory and Order sheets monthly.

Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED and;
- 1-year work-related experience in parts, maintenance, or a closely related field.
- Or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Faster Fleet Asset Management Software
- MS Office Suite software (Word/Excel/SharePoint, OneDrive)
