With our Housing Focus, you get to help clients meet their immediate needs, while working to resolve their homelessness!
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide direct support and advocacy for clients experiencing homelessness
* Maintain a safe and secure environment within the shelter
* Conduct intake assessments for new clients, help them understand how the shelter functions and what resources they have available to them, and develop individualized service plans
* Engage with clients regularly, providing accountability and support on plans, and assisting them in accessing resources - including housing, employment, healthcare, and social services* Respond to crises or emergencies that may arise within the shelter, such as conflicts between guests or mental health crises
* Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills related to trauma-informed care, housing assistance, crisis intervention, and other relevant areas
* Maintain accurate client records and documentationMore on the role:
* As we are a 24/7 operation, we have three different shifts available: morning/day, day/evening, evening/overnight
* Pay begins at $15 an hour, based on education and experience
Qualifications
* Must be 21 years or older with a valid driver's license.
* High School Diploma or Equivalent.
* Strong communication, de-escalation, problem-solving, self care, and organizational skills.
* Compassionate, empathetic, and non-judgmental approach
* Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends (we are a 24/7 operation)
