POSITION OVERVIEW:
Assists JCHC Professional Clinic Manager in providing leadership for planning, organizing, directing, and evaluating all the activities in the Professional Clinic and Oncology Departments to achieve the organization’s mission, vision, and values. Assumes responsibility for the supervision of providers, clinical staff and registration staff, in accordance with hospital and departmental standards and policies. Recommend and implement changes to maintain or improve the delivery of services. Requires independent judgment and utilizing knowledge of hospital and corporate procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a current Iowa RN license
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred
- Two years’ previous experience in a similar position within a health center or related field required

DIRECT REPORTS:
Clinic provider; Clinic Registered Nurse; Clinic Licensed Practical Nurse; Clinic Medical Assistant; Clinic Registration Representative
POSITION-SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS:
- Demonstrates clinical expertise and serves as a resource to direct reports
- Will be current on nursing trends an oversee development of nursing staff; including training, conferences, and in-services
- Establishes, manages, and enforces clinic policies, procedures, and practices related to clinical practice to ensure compliance with all regulatory agencies and hospital wide policies. Ensures adherence to policies and standards set forth by state, federal, and hospital regulatory agencies
- Assumes responsibility of staffing the registration and nursing area, for all hours of operation in the most efficient and cost-effective manner to meet the health centers patient service and financial needs. Participates in recruitment, interviewing, selection, orientation, and training of registration personnel
- Assumes responsibility for customer complaints, related to registration and clinical action, and escalates as needed to Professional Clinic Manager and/or Risk and Patient Relations Coordinator. Fulfills paperwork, communicates with other departments, and follows up as needed
- Assumes responsibility of timesheets, scheduling, and coordinating of direct reports for leave requests in accordance with policies and procedures, including vacation and FMLA requests
- Assumes responsibility for maintaining, and running reports related to clinical function
- Assumes responsibility for writing, submitting, and presenting quarterly Quality Reports to the Quality Committee if related to clinical or registration practice
- Plans, organizes, implements, and follows up on staff meetings for direct reports
- Assumes responsibility of yearly performance evaluations and quarterly rounding of direct reports. This includes needed disciplinary actions and counseling
- Attends and participates in management meetings and other meetings as assigned.
- Plans, organizes, implements, and follows up on electronic health record updates and changes
- Oversees ordering and stocking of supplies needed for direct reports to prevent outdates, overstocking, and cost
- Contributes to developing and adhering to the annual budget for operating and capital expenditures for the clinic
