What are the responsibilities and job description for the Temp Pharmacist (6-week temp assignment starting May 2025) position at Jefferson County Health Center?
This is a temp position. The assignment will be for 6-weeks starting in May 2025.
Flexible day shift hours available. No weekends.
POSITION OVERVIEW:
Under supervision and direction of the Director of Pharmacy, monitors drug therapy for all patients and participating employees of the hospital. Delegates appropriate job duties to pharmacy technicians. Provides proper support to Director of Pharmacy. Follows all state and federal laws for pharmacists.
Collaborate with other clinicians, such as physicians, nurses and other health professionals daily. Provide consultation and patient education. Utilize resources to ensure safe and effective drug utilization. Process medication orders. Maintain drug databases and software pertaining to pharmacy functions.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Graduate of an accredited school of Pharmacy and licensed or eligible for licensing in Iowa.
- PharmD or RPh degree required.
- A minimum of two years acute care setting experience or ASHP approved residency is preferred.

Reports to Pharmacy Director
