Concessions Attendant
Salary: $13.20 hourly
Location: Jefferson County Community Center
Reports To: Office Manager
Employment Status: Part-Time, up to 20 hours/week

Job Summary:
The part-time Concession Stand Worker is responsible for operating and maintaining the concession stand within Jefferson County Parks, to include the Jefferson County Community Center, ballfield concessions. This role includes preparing and serving food and beverages, handling transactions, maintaining cleanliness, and providing excellent customer service. The ideal candidate is friendly, reliable, and enjoys working in a fast-paced environment while ensuring food safety and sanitation standards are met.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- None.
Duties / Responsibilities:
- Prepare, cook, and serve food and beverages according to safety and health guidelines.
- Operate cash registers, handle cash, and process credit/debit card transactions accurately.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, including washing dishes, wiping counters, and sweeping floors.
- Stock and replenish concession stand inventory as needed.
- Ensure compliance with all food handling and sanitation regulations.
- Interact with customers in a friendly and professional manner, providing information on menu items and pricing.
- Monitor equipment functionality and report any maintenance needs.
- Follow opening and closing procedures, including counting cash and preparing daily sales reports.
- Assist with special events or large crowds by maintaining efficiency and quick service.
- Report any incidents, emergencies, or safety concerns to management.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:
- Knowledge of basic food handling and preparation techniques.
- Skill in operating a cash register and handling money accurately.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to follow health and safety regulations.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to maintain a clean and organized workspace.
Education, Experience, and Qualifications:
- A high school diploma or GED is preferred.
- Previous experience in food service, concessions, hospitality, or customer service is a plus.
- Must be able to pass a background check.
- Must obtain a food handler’s certification within 30 days of hire.
- CPR & First Aid certification preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- The work environment involves indoor and outdoor settings, with exposure to heat from cooking equipment.
- Requires frequent standing, bending, reaching, and lifting.
- Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs.
- Parks & Recreation is a smoke-free facility; therefore, smoking and vaping on all company premises are prohibited.
