QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Master’s Degree or higher from an accredited institution.
2. Certification in Educational Leadership or School Principal by the State of Florida.
3. Minimum of three (3) years successful teaching and administrative experience.

JOB GOAL
To provide leadership, direction, and support in developing, implementing, and maintaining the best possible educational programs and services through focus on continuous school improvement.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Direct the overall activities of planning, developing, coordinating, implementing, and evaluating all District curriculum, instruction and instructional support programs, including basic, vocational, adult, testing, and exceptional student education.
- Direct and coordinate all activities related to the district’s student services programs.
- Provide leadership for student-focused school improvement initiatives.
- Initiate the development of programmatic goals and learning objectives on a district-wide basis within the scope of School Board policy, administrative directives, assessed student needs, and operational constraints.
- Provide overall leadership and appropriate resources for on-going district-wide curriculum development, and review to ensure articulation of standards, objectives, and skills for Pre-K through Grade 12.
- Provide overall leadership for the evaluation and selection of instructional materials.
- Provide leadership for purposeful articulation among all instructional levels, as well as, between basic and special programs.
- Coordinate the District’s assessment/testing program.
- Provide leadership and assistance to school personnel in the use of assessment data for the improvement of instruction.
- Serve as the liaison between the Florida Department of Education (FLDOE) and the instructional staff of the district in communicating and planning program requirements of State statutes, FLDOE rules and regulations, and mandated federal programs.
- Prepare and recommend to the superintendent, alternative and optional programs to support the district’s annual and long-range improvement plans.
- Collaborate with school principals and staff for comprehensive program planning and budgeting.
- Ensure appropriate training opportunities are available to support school improvement instructional priorities.
- Coordinate all school improvement and instructional services reporting requirements and prepare required reports.
- Assist in the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools accreditation process.
- Direct and supervise the implementation of the District’s Pupil Progression Plan.
- Assist in district-wide planning to link curriculum and learning development and the use of financial and human resources to achieve the district’s goals and objectives.
- Assist in the preparation of grant applications to enhance District resources for programs and services.
- Coordinate the District Spelling Bee.
- Coordinate the Home Education Program, 6-12 grades.
- Perform all other tasks consistent with the goals and objectives of the district.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Light Work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds of force as frequently as needed to move objects.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Salary and benefits shall be paid consistently with the district’s approved compensation plan. The length of the work year and hours of employment shall be those established by the district.
EVALUATION:
The performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with the provisions of the Board’s policy on evaluation of personnel.
