Job Description:
As a Custodian III at Jefferson County Schools, you will play a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our facilities. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that all areas of the school are clean, safe, and well-maintained.
Your day-to-day tasks will include cleaning classrooms, offices, libraries, restrooms, and common areas; maintaining floors, walls, and ceilings; and performing minor maintenance and repairs. You will also be responsible for securing the building, maintaining supplies and equipment, and conducting inventory of materials.
In addition to your technical skills, you will need to possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as you will interact regularly with students, staff, and visitors. You must also be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you will need to have a high school diploma or equivalent, and a valid driver's license. You must also be able to pass a criminal background check and demonstrate competency in state-approved competency test(s), as required.
You will need to have prior experience in custodial work, preferably in an educational setting. You must also be able to lift and move heavy objects, stand for long periods, and work in a variety of environments, including indoor and outdoor settings.
