About the Role: As an ESE Coordinator, you will play a vital role in ensuring the successful implementation of special education programs and services, adhering to federal and state regulations. You will work closely with teachers, parents, and other professionals to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), provide technical assistance, and promote best practices in exceptional student education (ESE). This role requires strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills to support students with diverse learning needs and help them achieve academic success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the development, implementation, and compliance of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with disabilities.
- Ensure all special education services align with federal (IDEA) and state laws, policies, and guidelines.
- Provide support, training, and guidance to teachers, staff, and administrators on best practices for special education instruction, accommodations, and modifications.
- Serve as a liaison between the school, parents, and community agencies to coordinate services and advocate for student needs.
- Monitor student progress, collect data, and make recommendations for additional support services when necessary.
- Assist with behavioral intervention plans, functional behavior assessments, and crisis management strategies.
- Conduct professional development workshops for staff to improve inclusive practices and special education strategies.
- Ensure accurate documentation and record-keeping for compliance with state and federal reporting requirements.
- Collaborate with school counselors, psychologists, and other specialists to support student development.
- Participate in school-wide initiatives to promote a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Develop and oversee transition plans for students progressing to different grade levels or post-secondary education.
