Location: Port Townsend
Jefferson County is seeking a Superior Court Administrator. This position is responsible for overseeing, organizing, planning, managing, and administering all non-judicial functions of the Superior Court. The individual selected will have significant discretion in carrying out duties within the framework of established policies and regulations, with guidance and supervision from the superior court judge. They also supervise bailiffs as needed. Candidates should enjoy engaging with the public and be comfortable in a courtroom environment. They should be comfortable learning and working with technology including court recording systems, video and audio systems, excel and word processing and more. The role requires the exercise of broad discretion to ensure the critical, effective, and efficient delivery of services for the Superior Court. As the primary administrative managerial position, the Superior Court Administrator plays a vital role in the Court’s operations.
Education and/or Experience: Associates (AA/AS) degree in a criminal justice or business-related field from a two-year college or technical school, supplemented by a minimum of five (5) years' experience in progressively responsible positions in a court or law office up to and including supervisory responsibility; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Successful completion of required training classes to obtain certificates necessary for functional skills performance, maintenance and improvement.
Hours & Compensation: This is a full time Exempt salary position at MGR 18 with generous benefit package including: full medical, with dental and vision; up to 21 days of Personal Time Off (PTO) in the first year of employment; 12 paid holidays; longevity bonus; bereavement leave; and retirement via Washington State DRS. Pay range is $7,109.12-$8,488.66, starting pay typically $7,109.12per month, DOE.
