Noxious Weed Assistant Coordinator

WSU Extension is seeking a Noxious Weed Assistant Coordinator for an Internship. The Noxious Weed Assistant Coordinator is responsible for identifying noxious weeds, collecting data, communicating with landowners, prescribing control methods, handling and applying herbicides, documenting treatments, attending educational events, helping to improve and streamline processes, participating in workshops and training courses, following the rules and regulations set by the Jefferson County Noxious Weed Control Board and the Jefferson County Policy, working with partner organizations and organizing educational and volunteer events. This internship is temporary with a maximum duration of 5 months between March and September.

Education and/or experience:

Associates degree or higher in environmental science, environmental studies, natural resource management or related field is preferred. One year of related work experience can substitute for a degree.

Compensation:

Part-Time Seasonal for 5 months. Work up to 96 hours per month. $26.00-$28.00 per hour, DOE. No benefits. One hour of paid sick leave for every 40 hours worked.
