JEFFERSON COUNTY CLERK & RECORDER=s OFFICE: Jefferson County seeks a qualified person to fill the permanent full-time position of Accounting Specialist within the Clerk & Recorder’s Office. Governmental accounting and financial background required; applicant must have knowledge of GASB (Government Accounting Standards Board); must understand federal and state wage and hours laws. payroll and bookkeeping practices and have the ability to create complex spreadsheets, databases, and financial statements.
A bachelor’s degree and three years of accounting experience preferred, however applicants with a high school diploma and six years of governmental accounting experience will be considered. Due to the possible complexity of this position, the County will consider this as a training position at the entry level salary of $23.26/hour, with a possible increase in wages after a successful training period is completed.
