As a Teacher, you will assist the Lead Teacher with modifying the curriculum and lesson plans to meet individual child's needs, completing ongoing assessments, and support children's growth and development through quality learning experiences. JFCAC Head Start is a federally funded program designed to support school readiness for children ages birth through 5 years of age for children and families living in poverty.
Job Duties:
- The Teacher will integrate High Scope Curriculum into daily practice
- The Teacher will prepare the classroom environment to support developmentally appropriate practices
- The Teacher will help plan and participate in family activity events
- The Teacher will support the role of families as the first and primary teachers of their children
- The Teacher will attend and participate in training and professional development
- The Teacher will ensure all federal, local, state and/or agency documentation is completed accurately
- The Teacher will maintain a clean and sanitary environment
Qualifications:
- Current Infant/Toddler or Preschool CDA required.
- Associate Degree or higher in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Elementary Education, or a closely related field with a minimum of 9 ECE credits preferred.
- Work experience in early childhood preferred.
- Experience working with low-income families, childcare, health or education preferred.
