Job Description
What You’ll Do
- Prepare and maintain the sterile field for surgical procedures.
- Anticipate the surgeon’s needs with expert knowledge of instruments, equipment, and procedures.
- Assist with gowning, gloving, draping, and positioning of surgical team members and patients.
- Perform and verify instrument, sharps, and sponge counts in collaboration with the circulating nurse.
- Ensure a safe, clean, and organized operating room environment.
- Provide guidance and training to new team members through precepting.
- High School Diploma/equivalent & Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technician training program.
- Certified Surgical Technician (CST) (TS-C) – Certification must be maintained.
- BLS Certification (American Heart Association).
- Prior surgical technician experience preferred.
