Summary
Jefferson Lines is looking for a Fleet Maintenance Supervisor who is detail-oriented, a great communicator, and critical thinker. The Fleet Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for managing and directing the day-to-day needs of the service technicians and wash bay staff. Primary responsibility is to manage and coordinate internal and external resources to facilitate all bus repair and preventative maintenance activities. Secondary responsibility is to provide oversight to the wash bay staff ensuring vehicle readiness and qualify wash bay services.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage and direct preventative maintenance and shop repairs
- Work with 3rd party repair facilities/road service/and towing companies servicing Jefferson Lines equipment
- Assist service technicians with support needs including priorities, diagnostics, etc.
- Coach, mentor, and evaluate service technicians and coach servicers
- Conduct regular audits of work to ensure quality standards are achieved
- Regular review of break downs, preventative maintenance interval, and other trend analysis
- Be a single point of contact to dispatch regarding repair status, moves, and availability questions
- Work with Maintenance Manager to ensure parts are properly stocked and available for services
- Monitor safety and performance of all maintenance and coach servicer employees
Education and/or Experience:
- Degree in diesel equipment technology or equivalent technical school (preferred)
- 3-5 years of relevant experience
- Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience
- Active A/B CDL License (or Willingness to Obtain)
- Current DOT Certification (or Willingness to Obtain)
Skills/Abilities:
- Understanding of DOT, federal, state motor carrier and safety regulations
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Commitment to work as a team member for the benefit of the company
- Ability to work with limited supervision and direction
- Excellent employee communications, organization, time management and leadership skills
- Ability and commitment to handle information in a confident manner
- Ability to handle multiple tasks at one time
- Ability to respond to emergencies and crisis situations
- Able to meet deadline – at times under pressure
- Experience with Microsoft Office products

This employee may be exposed to fumes, airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals and may be required to work outside in all weather conditions. The noise level in this work environment is sometimes very loud. The employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts.

Salary : $55,000 - $65,000
