What are the responsibilities and job description for the RN - PACU - Einstein Medical Center Philadelphia position at Jefferson - North Philadelphia, PA?
- Participates in the development and evaluation of nursing practices provided in the Pre-operative and Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) and provides the overall function in that clinical area.
- This includes assessments, planning, and provision of comprehensive nursing care to this specific group of patients and the delivery of medical regimens prescribed for those patients by a licensed physician.
- Will be expected to rotate throughout busy endoscopy suite. It also includes participation in the identification and resolution of nursing practice and unit problems.
- This position requires providing service to adult and geriatric patients in a manner that demonstrates an understanding of the functional/developmental age of the individual served.
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing required.
- Current Pennsylvania RN license, active and in good standing is required.
- CPR certification through the American Heart Association required.
- ACLS and PALS required.
- CCRN and Trauma certification preferred.
- Minimum 1 year experience in a PACU or critical care setting required.
- Successful completion of a skills based test required
Since this position will require the selected candidate to engage in regular contact with children in the form of care, guidance, supervision or training, you will be required to meet the requirements of the Child Protective Services Act, including the Pennsylvania State Police criminal background check, the Pennsylvania Department of Welfare child abuse criminal background clearance, and an FBI finger print based federal criminal records check. The selected candidate will not be allowed to commence working until all three (3) are completed satisfactorily.
