What are the responsibilities and job description for the Benefits Analyst position at Jefferson Parish School District?
Reports to: FFGA Regional Sales Manager
Location: Harvey, LA
Position Description:
The Benefits Analyst will be housed within Jefferson Parish Schools, Human Resources Department, but will be an employee of First Financial Group of America. The position will have reporting responsibilities to the FFGA Regional Sales Manager but will also be tasked with work assigned by the JPS Human Resources Department that involve any/all voluntary supplemental benefits that are covered within the FFGA/JPS contract. The Benefits Analyst will be responsible for organization and oversight of all aspects of the voluntary supplemental benefits enrollment process for new hires throughout the year. The position will organize and present information at annual enrollments. Working collaboratively with FFGA and both JPS Finance and Human Resources departments, to ensure all benefit eligible employees who elect voluntary supplemental benefits - that their information is processed accurately. Additionally, the position will perform other administrative duties as assigned by Jefferson Parish Schools, Human Resources Department.
Duties include but are not limited to the following:
? Organize and oversee all aspects of the voluntary supplemental benefits enrollment process for new hires
throughout the year
? Organize and present information at weekly onboarding and annual enrollment meetings
? Monitor the preparation, printing, and maintenance of supplies for insurance information such as plan documents,
benefits bulletins, annual enrollment packets, etc.
? Assist with preparing all benefits specialty information and materials, including the benefits booklet
? Collaborate with the First Financial Group of America Departments to distribute electronic benefits notifications to
all employees
? Help to prepare bid specifications for supplemental benefits when applicable
? Assist with Affordable Care Act Reporting (ACA) reporting
? Collaborates with FFGA Billing Specialist, JPS Human Resources and Finance for voluntary supplemental
benefits bill reconciliation
? Provides assistance in a variety of methods (through meetings, phone, email and other forms of communication)
to employees with any voluntary supplemental benefits-related questions
? Processes all life insurance claims for employees or retirees with state and group life insurance
? Performs other duties as assigned by FFGA and/or JPS Human Resources Department
Qualifications:
- Bachelors’ degree or higher from an accredited college or university
- Knowledgeable and proficient in Microsoft and Google suites
- Excellent customer service skills when dealing with the public
- High degree of professionalism, with the ability to manage multiple competing priorities, while consistently demonstrating sound judgment and disciplined thinking
- Detail-oriented, intrinsically motivated
- Ability to work a flexible schedule
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Two (2 ) years of public school and/or corporate administrative experience
- Two (2 ) years of benefits customer service experience
Desirable Qualifications:
- Bilingual – English/Spanish preferred but not required
- Group 1 Life & Health license or be able to obtain in 90 days
The salary range will be $37,150-$42,150
