What are the responsibilities and job description for the Staffing and Planning Technician position at Jefferson Parish School District?
Position Description: The Staffing and Planning Technician is responsible for the coordination and management of the daily activities of the Recruitment & Selection Department, including the electronic preparation and processing of various reports and compilation of statistical data. The Staffing and Planning Technician prepares and updates all staffing sheets and works collaboratively with the Planning Department.
Reports To: Director of Recruitment and Selection
Scope of Responsibility:
- Monitors the district’s online application system and maintains contact with the Recruitment and Selection team, principals, and hiring managers to post positions for vacancies and remove positions when filled.
- Collects mutual consents from Recruitment and Staffing Coordinators, removes filled positions from Applitrack, sends “New Hire Packet” to applicants, and forwards mutual consent to appropriate Employee Services technician to complete onboarding process.
- Supports the Recruitment and Staffing Coordinators with preparing for recruitment events.
- Supports the Certification Coordinator with maintaining High Qualified database and processing tuition reimbursement applications.
- Assist the Recruitment and Selection coordinators with maintaining an up to date substitute pool database.
- Responds to calls from school system employees and external applicants who need assistance with the online application system.
- Manages clerical activities to ensure a routine work flow and submits request for information to other units in Central Office.
- Prioritizes, screens, and distributes all telephone calls and incoming mail for the department. Answers inquiries from the general public, administrators, and other personnel in absence of Administrative Assistant/AppliTrack Manager.
- Manages the district’s online application system by posting and removing positions, routing applications to appropriate hiring managers, and resetting passwords for internal and external candidates.
- Types memoranda, statistical reports, boundary information and historical data as required by the Planning Department.
- Assists in compiling demographic information and auditing school enrollment/attendance.
- Attends all Planning Department and Projections meetings.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Director of Recruitment & Selection and Chief Human Resources Officer.
