Field Representative – Tax Collector

Job Overview:

The Field Representative – Tax Collector is responsible for field collection and enforcement of delinquent local taxes while assisting taxpayers with tax notices and payments. This role also supports office staff as needed and performs other duties assigned by a supervisor.

Salary Range:

$41,700 – $47,100

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct field collection and enforcement of delinquent local taxes
Assist taxpayers with tax notices and payment processes
Provide customer service and problem-solving support
Perform office duties as directed by a supervisor

Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED equivalent
General office experience (typing, filing, and use of computers, printers, scanners, and fax machines)
Valid Louisiana driver’s license

Required Skills & Abilities:

Ability to make independent decisions impacting the Bureau and JPSO
Strong customer service and communication skills
Attention to detail and ability to work independently or in a team
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
Familiarity with office equipment (10-key calculator, shredder, printer, scanner, copier)
Willingness to work occasional overtime, if needed

Physical Requirements:

Frequent walking, sitting, speaking, and hearing
Ability to lift and move storage boxes (approx. 20 lbs.)
Frequent entry and exit of a motor vehicle for taxpayer visits
Close vision and ability to focus
