What are the responsibilities and job description for the LICENSED PRACTICAL NURSE (6560) position at Jefferson Parish?
EXAMINATION IS ANNOUNCED TO ESTABLISH AN EMPLOYMENT LIST TO FILL ONE (1) CURRENT EAST JEFFERSON VACANCY AND ONE (1) CURRENT WEST JEFFERSON VACANCY ALL IN THE DEPARTMENT OF JEFFERSON COMMUNITY ACTION PROGRAM.
This employment list will also be used for future EAST AND WEST Jefferson vacancies in this Departments as they occur.Under the general supervision of the Health Coordinator, the purpose of this position is to provide non-invasive medical services to the HS B-5 Program children and the staff. Employees in this classification provide for the care, treatment and general welfare of children, provide administrative support to services of the HS B-5 Program, and assist the Health Coordinator in meeting the requirements of the Head Start Performance Standards and perform related work as directed. This position is an essential, emergency duty status worker and may not be relieved of duty when the Parish President or his designee recommends a voluntary or mandatory evacuation of Jefferson Parish. Position requires driving of a personal vehicle, thus possession of a valid driver's license, acceptable driving record, and personal automobile with minimum liability insurance available for business use (business travel is reimbursed on a mileage basis) will be given preference. Note: Current licensure as a Registered Nurse or Advanced Practice Registered Nurse from the Louisiana State Board of Nursing is acceptable.
NOTE: Must be able to pass a state background check with no felony or misdemeanor convictions. Any conviction listed in the Louisiana Child Protection Act (Louisiana R.S. 15:587.1) is considered disqualifying, unless written proof of pardon is submitted in time for consideration with the application.
Related education, experience, and/or professional certification(s) above and beyond the minimum qualifications will be required for consideration of an entrance salary above the minimum rate.(ENTRANCE AND PROMOTIONAL)
The examination may consist of a written test, a rating of training and experience, an oral panel interview or any combination thereof. Acceptable applicants will be notified of the time, date, and place of any assembled testing. Applicants must supply complete and accurate information concerning their training and experience including a detailed description of their work experience, the names and addresses of all previous employers and the dates of employment. The information is subject to verification and the Personnel Department reserves the right to determine the quality and quantity of education and experience claimed for credit.
