EXAMINATION IS ANNOUNCED TO ESTABLISH AN EXISTING EMPLOYMENT LIST TO FILL THREE (3) CURRENT EAST JEFFERSON VACANCIES IN THE DEPARTMENT OF SEWERAGE AND FUTURE VACANCIES AS THEY OCCUR.The purpose of this position is to receive complaints, entering complaints into the Parish Work Order System, and request for service from residents and businesses of Jefferson Parish after working hours, weekends, and holidays. Dispatches appropriate department service personnel to handle problems noted on the SCADA computer system. Dispatches appropriate department service personnel to various locations in response to complaints and requests for service. Performs computer monitoring of Public Works facilities to prevent or minimize public works emergencies and insure that all public works facilities are functioning properly and efficiently. Monitors the operation of machinery and equipment connected to and measured by the Parish's computerized SCADA system. Uses judgment in determining the proper department to be notified of alarms and alerts prompted by the SCADA computer monitoring system. Performs related work as required. Please note this position works on a rotating shift basis which involves day, night, weekend, and holiday schedules. Meets one of the following options:
I. Possession of a high school diploma or equivalent and responsible, paid work experience in: (i) a dispatching role (or similar role responsible for the dispatching of personnel) or (ii) a customer service/relations role responsible for the receipt of complaints and service requests.
