EXAMINATION IS SUPPLEMENT THE EXISTING EMPLOYMENT LIST TO FILL ONE (1) CURRENT EAST JEFFERSON VACANCY IN THE WATER DEPARTMENT.This employment list will also be used for future EAST AND WEST Jefferson vacancies in this Department as they occur.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Under the general direction of the Water Quality Scientist III, the purpose of this position is to perform professional level scientific work involving the microbiological or biological analysis of water and wastewater samples for the recovery, specification, and identification of contaminants, agents, and parameters of such agents. Employees in this class are responsible for performing routine microbiological or biological analysis work and supervising semi-professional laboratory personnel. Additionally, employees in this class may assist a higher level Water Quality Scientist in the operation of a laboratory section in either the Chemistry Division or the Microbiology Division of the Jefferson Parish Water Quality Laboratory. Position requires driving of a Parish vehicle, thus possession of a valid driver's license and acceptable driving record will be given preference.
SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
(ENTRANCE AND PROMOTIONAL)This examination will consist of a rating of training and experience, weighted 100%.Applicants must supply complete and accurate information concerning their training and experience including a detailed description of their work experience, the names and addresses of all previous employers and the dates of employment.
