Jefferson Park Preschool is a well-respected childcare center located in the heart of Elizabeth, NJ. Jefferson Park Preschool was established in 1969 by concerned Elizabeth residents as a private, non-profit organization to provide quality daycare for children of working families. Since its founding Jefferson Park has provided a word-class early childhood program; with a majority of it's graduates going on to excel in academics and gain entry to honors and gifted and talented programs

Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver curriculum founded on the center's philosophies whilst following High Scope Curriculum.
- Create positive learning environments including resources based on child-directed learning.
- Develop strategies to guide positive children's behavior
- Build good, open communication with children, families, and staff
- Observe and record children's growth, development and behavior using electronic portfolios
- Ensure the learning environment is clean, hygienic and safe
- Help develop teaching goals for the center and its teachers
- Undertake administrative tasks as required
- Submit weekly lesson plans
- Work with colleagues on school-wide special events
Requirements:
- A Bachelor Degree in Education (Early Childhood) or related field
- NJ Teaching Certificate CE or CEAS; P-3 Certification
- Experience working in a childcare setting
- Fantastic organizational and teamwork skills
- Sound written and verbal communication skills
- Friendly personality ability to communicate with parents
- A good level of computer literacy
- A good understanding of the Early Years Learning Framework
The full-time position begins in September 2021.
