Schedule Commitment
Schedules are available 6 weeks in advance. The work schedule commitment for this position requires the following:
Must be able to work required shiftMust be able to work two (2) twelve (12) hour shifts on a weekly basis
Must be able to work every third(3rd) weekend
Holiday commitment consists of 1 holiday per season
Responsibilities
Reporting to the Nurse Manager, Mental Health/Behavioral Health Techs will provide direct bedside care to patients:
Assists the RN in delivering care, observing patient behaviors, and more.Reports/documents any changes in patients mood or behavior in a timely fashion.
Provides one-on-one sessions with assigned patients as needed.
Mental Health Technicians will maintain a full patient caseload with an assigned primary nurse in an inpatient setting and provide care for all patients effectively and compassionately.
Qualifications
To qualify as a Mental Health Tech/Behavioral Health Tech, you must meet the following requirements for consideration:
High School Diploma or equivalent requiredAt Least 12 college credits, and full college degree preferred
BS or BA in behavioral health field preferred
One-year experience with behavioral health clients preferred
BLS through AHA required
Must be trained in PEAT and able to safely schedule and restrain an aggressively acting out patient
